<h1>SEBI Reg 296: Board Can Issue Directions to Protect Investors, Market; Allows Hearings for Affected Parties.</h1> Regulation 296 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2018, empowers the Board to issue directions or orders in the interests of investors or the securities market. These actions can be initiated suo motu, based on information, or following inspections, inquiries, or investigations. The Board may restrict market access, mandate the sale or divestment of securities, or issue other suitable directives. Affected parties are entitled to a reasonable opportunity to be heard, either before or after such directives, with post-decisional hearings available for interim orders.
