<h1>Mandatory IPO Allotment Rule: Minimum 50 Allottees Required, Proportionate Allotment, and Discretionary Allocation for Eligible Investors.</h1> Regulation 287 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2018, mandates that an initial public offer must have at least fifty allottees. Allotment to institutional and non-institutional investors is proportionate, with any under-subscription in the non-institutional category available for institutional subscription. Up to sixty percent of the issue size can be allocated on a discretionary basis to eligible investors prior to the issue opening, with a minimum application value of fifty lakh rupees. The price for eligible investors cannot be lower than that offered to other applicants.
