SEBI Regulation 117: Lock-in Period for Partly Paid Securities Reduced to 18 Months After Achieving Pari Passu Status.
Regulation 117 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) regulations addresses the lock-in period for party-paid securities. If these securities are partly paid-up with a lower called-up amount compared to publicly issued securities, their lock-in period concludes only after eighteen months from the point they achieve pari passu status with the publicly issued securities. This regulation was amended in 2021, reducing the lock-in period from the previous requirement of three years.
