<h1>New Section 22E in Consumer Protection Act: Governance of National Commission appointments post-Finance Act 2017 under Section 184.</h1> In the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, a new section 22E is introduced, specifying that the qualifications, appointment, term of office, salaries, allowances, resignation, removal, and other service conditions of the President and members of the National Commission appointed after the commencement of Part XIV of Chapter VI of the Finance Act, 2017, will be governed by section 184 of that Act. However, those appointed before this commencement will remain under the original provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, as if section 184 had not been enacted.
