Qualifications and terms of service for tribunal members now governed by Finance Act provisions, with transitional protection for incumbents. Qualifications, appointment, term of office, salaries and allowances, resignation, removal and other terms and conditions of service for the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Members appointed after commencement of the Finance Act provisions are governed by the Finance Act; incumbents appointed before that commencement remain governed by the original Act. The Claims Tribunal will, from that commencement, exercise the jurisdiction, powers and authority conferred on it under Chapter VII of the Railways Act, 1989, and related cross references are amended accordingly.
