Commencement provision: Finance Act sets its short title and specifies commencement for its operative sections. The Act is titled the Finance Act, 2017 and is enacted to give effect to the Central Government's financial proposals for the relevant financial year. Except as otherwise provided, sections 2 to 88 are declared to come into force on the Act's commencement date, thereby establishing the general temporal operation of the statute and preserving any special commencement rules.
