Benami property inquiries: initiating officer may investigate with prior approving authority consent; statutory notice may exclude application. The Initiating Officer, after obtaining prior approval of the Approving Authority, has power to conduct or cause to be conducted inquiries or investigations into any person, place, property, assets, documents, books of account or other relevant matters under the Act; this section does not apply and is deemed never to have applied where the Initiating Officer has issued a statutory notice under subsection (1) of section 24.
