of <h1>Benami Transactions Act Section on Adjudicating Authority Benches Constitution and Jurisdiction Removed from July 2021</h1> The provision regarding the constitution and jurisdiction of Benches of the Adjudicating Authority under the Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Act was omitted effective July 1, 2021. Previously, the Act empowered the Chairperson to constitute Benches with two Members, determine their sitting locations primarily in the National Capital Territory of Delhi or other notified places, and specify their jurisdictional areas by Central Government notification. The Chairperson also had authority to transfer Members between Benches. This section's removal indicates a legislative change in the structure or functioning of the Adjudicating Authority under the Act.
