Public servant designation makes tribunal members and officers subject to penal provisions under the Indian Penal Code. Chairperson, Members and other officers and employees of the Appellate Tribunal, the Adjudicating Authority, the Approving Authority, the Initiating Officer, the Administrator and the officers subordinate to all of them shall be deemed to be public servants within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code.
