Authorities and jurisdiction define designated authorities for benami property enforcement and vest them with operative powers. The Act identifies four designated authorities-the Initiating Officer, the Approving Authority, the Administrator, and the Adjudicating Authority-and vests each with the power to exercise any functions or powers conferred or assigned under the Act or under prescribed rules to implement enforcement, administrative and adjudicatory responsibilities in relation to benami property transactions.
