of <h1>Benami property authorities and jurisdiction clarified, four authorities designated with powers to exercise functions under the Act.</h1> Section 18 designates four authorities for benami property regulation: the Initiating Officer, the Approving Authority, the Administrator and the Adjudicating Authority; each is empowered to exercise specified powers and perform functions under the Act or under rules made thereunder. The provision, inserted by the 2016 amendment effective 01-11-2016, formalises institutional roles and confers rulebased scope for delegation and procedural exercise of powers in proceedings concerning benami property transactions.
