Benami property law: Section 8's rulemaking and adjudicating authority composition provisions have been omitted. Section 8 has been omitted; formerly it vested the Central Government with a rulemaking power to prescribe matters including the authority competent to acquire properties, the procedure for acquisition, and related prescribed matters, and required rules to be laid before both Houses of Parliament with provision for modification or annulment. A prior provision specifying the composition of the Adjudicating Authority (Chairperson and at least two Members) was also omitted by amendment.
