          <h1>General penalties for contravention: fixed penalty with a daily continuing penalty, subject to an overall maximum cap.</h1> General penalties impose monetary liability on an LLP, any partner, any designated partner or any other person who contravenes the Act, its rules, or conditions attached to approvals where no other penalty is provided; the defaulting person is liable to a fixed penalty for the initial default and a daily continuing penalty for each day after the first during which the contravention continues, subject to a statutory maximum cap.
