of <h1>Section 216 Amended: New Clause on Beneficial Interest in Shares Added by Companies (Amendment) Act, 2017.</h1> Section 216 of the principal Act is amended by the Companies (Amendment) Act, 2017. In subsection (1), clause (b) is modified to replace the word 'company' with 'company; or'. Additionally, a new clause (c) is introduced, addressing individuals who have or had a beneficial interest in shares of a company or who are or have been beneficial owners or significant beneficial owners of a company.
