of <h1>Amendment to Companies Act: Registrar Can Reserve Company Name for 20 Days, 60 Days for Existing Companies.</h1> Section 4 of the Companies (Amendment) Act, 2017 modifies the principal Act by replacing clause (i) in sub-section (5). The amendment allows the Registrar to reserve a company name for twenty days from the date of approval based on the application and accompanying documents. However, if an existing company applies for name reservation or change, the Registrar may extend the reservation period to sixty days from the date of approval.
