Director disqualification: new appointees receive a temporary protection period; certain disqualifications persist despite appeals filed. Section 164 is amended to grant newly appointed directors of companies in default a limited protection period from disqualification from the date of appointment, and to clarify that specified disqualifications continue to apply notwithstanding the filing of an appeal or petition against the order of conviction or disqualification.
