Central government power to frame foreign trade policy may extend to Special Economic Zones with specified exceptions. Power to formulate and amend the foreign trade policy is vested in the Central Government, which must announce the policy and any amendments by notification in the Official Gazette. The Central Government may also prescribe, by notification, the application of that policy to Special Economic Zones with specified exceptions, modifications and adaptations concerning goods, services and technology.
