Penalty and confiscation authority: Director General may impose sanctions or delegated officers may act within notified limits. Penalty and confiscation under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 may be imposed or adjudged by the Director General, and the Central Government may, by notification, authorise other officers to exercise those powers subject to specified limits.
