Section 20 Repeals Old Acts but Preserves Prior Actions, Rights, and Penalties Under 1947 Law and 1992 Ordinance.
Section 20 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act 1992 repeals the Imports and Exports (Control) Act, 1947, and the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Ordinance, 1992. Despite the repeal, it preserves the effects of prior actions under the 1947 Act, including rights, obligations, penalties, and proceedings. These can continue as if the Act were still in force. Actions taken under the 1992 Ordinance are considered valid under the new Act's provisions.
