of <h1>Government restricts imports of precious metal compounds and amalgams under CTH 2843 policy change</h1> The Government of India amended the import policy for items under CTH 2843 covering colloidal precious metals, inorganic or organic compounds of precious metals, and amalgams of precious metals. The import policy for all specified items including gold compounds, silver compounds, colloidal precious metals of gold and silver, sodium aurous thiosulphate, noble metal solutions, and amalgams has been revised from 'Free' to 'Restricted' with immediate effect. The amendment was notified by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade and communicated to customs authorities for implementation. Officers under various jurisdictions have been instructed to take necessary action regarding this policy change.
