Wheat export policy keeps prohibition in place while allowing limited additional shipments under notified modalities. Amendment in the export policy of wheat retains the existing prohibited status for ITC(HS) Codes 10011900 and 10019910, while permitting export of an additional 25 Lakh Metric Tonnes subject to modalities to be notified separately by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade. The existing policy condition also continues, allowing exports on the basis of Government of India permission to meet the food security needs of other countries, over and above the permitted additional quantity.
