of <h1>Government amends import policies for precious metals palladium rhodium iridium osmium ruthenium under Chapter 71</h1> The government amended import policies for precious metals under Chapter 71 of ITC (HS) 2022, effective immediately. Six specific codes covering palladium, rhodium, iridium, osmium and ruthenium in unwrought, powder, and other forms maintain 'Free' import status. However, new restrictions apply to alloys of these metals containing more than 1% gold by weight, which are now classified as 'Restricted' imports. The notification was issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade and communicated to all customs commissioners and relevant authorities for implementation and officer sensitization.
