Import restriction for specified silver goods now requires nominated channels and valid DGFT authorisation. Import policy conditions are amended for specified silver items under Chapter 71 of ITC(HS), 2022, Schedule I, with immediate effect. Silver in powder form and other specified unwrought silver entries are placed under a restricted regime requiring imports through nominated agencies notified by the Reserve Bank of India for banks and by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade for other agencies, and only against a valid Import Authorisation issued by the DGFT. Silver dore may be imported by refineries against a licence with AU condition.
