Payment for honour permits third parties to pay noted or protested bills for liable parties with notarised declaration. Payment for honour allows any person to pay a bill of exchange that has been noted or protested for non-payment on behalf of a party liable on the instrument, provided the payer or the payer's agent previously declares before a notary public the party for whose honour the payment is made and the notary records that declaration.
