Negotiability of instruments ends upon payment or satisfaction; transfer allowed until then but not after payment. A negotiable instrument remains negotiable until paid or satisfied by the maker, drawee or acceptor; negotiation is allowed up to and at maturity except that the maker, drawee or acceptor may not negotiate the instrument after maturity, and it ceases to be negotiable following payment or satisfaction.
