Negotiable instruments can be transferred until paid or satisfied, as per Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
A negotiable instrument can be transferred by parties other than the maker, drawee, or acceptor until it is paid or satisfied. This transferability is valid until the instrument reaches maturity and is settled by the responsible parties. However, once the instrument is paid or satisfied, it can no longer be negotiated. This provision is outlined in the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, under Indian law.
