Principal Cannot Revoke Agent's Authority Mid-Action Once Partly Exercised Under Section 204, Indian Contract Act, 1872.
Under Section 204 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, a principal cannot revoke the authority granted to an agent once the authority has been partly exercised, in relation to acts and obligations arising from actions already performed. For instance, if an agent buys cotton in their own name and becomes personally liable, the principal cannot revoke the authority regarding payment. Conversely, if the agent buys in the principal's name without personal liability, the principal can revoke the authority concerning payment.
