Contractual Obligations: Representatives Must Fulfill Promises Unless Personal Skills Are Involved, Per Indian Contract Act, 1872.
Parties to a contract are obligated to perform or offer to perform their respective promises unless excused by the Indian Contract Act, 1872, or other laws. If a promisor dies before fulfilling a promise, their representatives are generally bound to perform unless the contract specifies otherwise. For example, if a promisor agrees to deliver goods and dies, their representatives must fulfill the promise. However, if the contract involves personal skills, like painting a picture, it cannot be enforced by or against the representatives if the promisor dies.
