<h1>Government designates Export Inspection Council, sectoral authorities, DGFT and SEZ offices to issue Certificates of Origin under PTAs</h1> For each listed preferential trade agreement, specified government authorities are designated to issue Certificates of Origin: broadly the Export Inspection Council (and regional inspection agencies) for all goods, Marine Products Export Development Authority for marine products, and the Textile Committee for textiles and made-ups; specific commodity boards (Tobacco Board, Spices Board, Coir Board, Central Silk Board, APEDA) and Development Commissioner (Handicraft) are authorised for respective sectors. For several recent CEPA/FTA entries, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, regional offices and specified SEZ authorities are additionally empowered to issue certificates within their jurisdictions.
