Regulation 11A Omitted: Streamlined SEBI Sub-Broker Registration Process No Longer Requires Form B or Stockbroker Recommendation.
Regulation 11A of the SEBI (Stock Brokers) Regulations, 1992, outlines the process for sub-brokers to apply for registration. Applicants must submit Form B, accompanied by a recommendation from an affiliated stockbroker and references, including one from a banker. The stock exchange verifies the application and ensures eligibility based on criteria such as age, criminal record, educational qualifications, and infrastructure. For partnerships or corporations, partners or directors must meet similar criteria. The stock exchange forwards the application and supporting documents to SEBI within 30 days. This regulation was omitted effective April 1, 2019.
