Regulation 18C Removed: Stock Brokers No Longer Restricted in Securities and Commodity Derivatives Activities Since 2017 Amendment.
Regulation 18C of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Stock Brokers) Regulations, 1992, initially established restrictions on stock brokers engaging in activities involving securities and commodity derivatives. Specifically, it prohibited stock brokers from dealing in commodity derivatives if they were involved in securities and vice versa, unless they obtained permission from the Board. This regulation was introduced in 2015 but was omitted in 2017 following an amendment to the regulations.
