Separate accounts requirement ensures segregation of beneficial owners' securities and transfers only on owner instruction. Regulation 59 requires participants to open separate accounts for each beneficial owner, segregate their securities from others and the participant's own holdings, register transfers only on receipt of instructions from the beneficial owner with subsequent confirmation as per depository bye laws, and ensure every beneficial owner account entry is supported by electronic or other agreed instructions.
