<h1>SEBI Regulation 35 on Suspension of Credit Rating Agencies' Registration Removed by 2002 Amendment</h1> Regulation 35 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Credit Rating Agencies) Regulations, 1999, which dealt with the suspension of registration for credit rating agencies, was omitted by the SEBI (Procedure for Holding Enquiry by Enquiry Officer and Imposing Penalty) Regulation, 2002, effective from September 27, 2002. Before its omission, this regulation allowed SEBI to impose a penalty of suspension on a credit rating agency's certificate of registration if the case met the criteria outlined in sub-regulation (1) of regulation 34.
