of <h1>SEBI Amends Regulations to Include ESG Rating Providers Under Credit Rating Agencies Framework, Introducing Chapter IVA</h1> The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has amended its regulations to include ESG rating providers under the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Credit Rating Agencies) Regulations, 1999. These amendments, introduced in Chapter IVA, apply to ESG rating providers, excluding Chapters II, III, and IV. References to 'credit rating agency' in Chapters I, V, VI, and VII will also apply to ESG rating providers where relevant. The provisions specifically apply to ESG rating providers listed in the Fourth Schedule, as per the notification dated July 3, 2023.
