of <h1>SEBI to Certify ESG Rating Providers Under New Rules; Eligibility and Form B Certification Details Announced.</h1> The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) may grant a certificate to applicants wishing to become ESG rating providers, provided they meet the specified requirements for their category. Once eligibility is confirmed, SEBI will issue a certificate in Form B of the Fifth Schedule and notify the applicant. This certificate remains valid unless suspended, cancelled, or surrendered by the ESG rating provider. These provisions were introduced through a notification dated July 3, 2023, under the SEBI (Credit Rating Agencies) Regulations, 1999.
