<h1>Credit Rating Agencies Must Appoint Compliance Officer to Report Non-Compliance to SEBI, per 2001 Amendment Regulations.</h1> Every credit rating agency is required to appoint a compliance officer responsible for ensuring adherence to the Act, rules, regulations, notifications, guidelines, and instructions issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or the Central Government. The compliance officer must report any instances of non-compliance directly and independently to SEBI. This provision was introduced through the SEBI (Investment Advice by Intermediaries) (Amendment) Regulations in 2001.
