<h1>SEBI Must Hear Applicant Before Denying Credit Rating Agency Registration; Reconsideration Requests Allowed Within 30 Days.</h1> If the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) decides not to grant a certificate of registration to a credit rating agency applicant, it must provide the applicant an opportunity to be heard before rejecting the application. SEBI must communicate its decision and the reasons within thirty days. An applicant dissatisfied with the rejection may request reconsideration in writing within thirty days of receiving the decision. SEBI must then review the reconsideration request and communicate its decision in writing promptly.
