Presidential vacancy succession: the senior-most member assumes duties when the President of a consumer commission is vacant or absent. Vacancy in the office of the President of a District Forum, State Commission, or National Commission is filled for duties by the senior-most member of that body; in the National Commission, a retired High Court Judge member - or if multiple, the senior-most among them - shall preside in the absence of the President, giving preference among members to retired High Court Judges for temporary leadership.
