The State Government shall, by notification, establish a Consumer Protection Council specifying its commencement date. The Council shall have the Minister in-charge of consumer affairs as Chairman, other official or non-official members as prescribed by the State Government, and may include members nominated by the Central Government. The Council shall meet as necessary with a statutory minimum number of meetings annually; the Chairman fixes time and place, and the State Government prescribes procedure for conducting its business.
