of <h1>Securities Appellate Tribunal Technical Members Appointed by Central Government via Search-cum-Selection Committee, per Finance Act, 2017.</h1> The Technical Members of the Securities Appellate Tribunal are appointed by the Central Government based on recommendations from a Search-cum-Selection Committee. This committee includes the Presiding Officer of the Securities Appellate Tribunal as Chairperson, and the Secretaries of the Departments of Economic Affairs, Financial Services, and either the Legislative Department or Legal Affairs as members. The Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs serves as the Convener. The committee is responsible for determining its procedure for recommending candidates for appointment. This provision was inserted by the Finance Act, 2017, effective from April 26, 2017.
