<h1>Section 15EA of SEBI Act: Penalties for Non-Compliance with Investment Fund Regulations, Up to 1 Crore or Triple Gains.</h1> Section 15EA of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992, imposes penalties on entities that fail to comply with regulations or directions concerning alternative investment funds, infrastructure investment trusts, and real estate investment trusts. The penalty is a minimum of one lakh rupees, potentially increasing by one lakh rupees for each day the non-compliance continues. The maximum penalty is capped at one crore rupees or three times the gains made from the non-compliance, whichever is higher. This provision was introduced through the Finance Act, 2018, effective from March 8, 2019.
