<h1>Section 11AA defines collective investment schemes requiring Board registration for corpus over hundred crore rupees</h1> Section 11AA of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 defines collective investment schemes as arrangements where investor contributions are pooled and utilized for scheme purposes, investors expect profits or returns, assets are managed on their behalf, and investors lack day-to-day operational control. Schemes with corpus amounts of one hundred crore rupees or more are deemed collective investment schemes unless registered with the Board. The provision excludes cooperative societies, non-banking financial companies, insurance contracts, provident fund schemes, company deposits, chit funds, and mutual fund subscriptions from this definition.
