<h1>New Criteria for Securities Appellate Tribunal: Supreme Court Judge, Chief Justice, or High Court Judge with 7-Year Experience</h1> The qualifications for appointment as the Presiding Officer or a Member of the Securities Appellate Tribunal under the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992, specify that a Presiding Officer must be, or have been, a Judge of the Supreme Court, a Chief Justice, or a High Court Judge for at least seven years. A Judicial Member must have been a High Court Judge for at least five years. A Technical Member must have held a senior government position or possess at least fifteen years of professional experience in the financial sector. Board members or senior management from the Board cannot be appointed during or within two years of their tenure.
