of <h1>Securities Appellate Tribunal appointments valid despite committee vacancies; restrictions on recent regulatory role holders.</h1> No appointment of the Presiding Officer, Judicial Member, or Technical Member of the Securities Appellate Tribunal is invalid due to any vacancy or defect in the Search-cum-Selection Committee. Individuals currently serving or recently retired from senior roles in the Securities and Exchange Board of India, Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority, or Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority cannot be appointed to the Tribunal within two years of leaving their position. Current members holding office at the commencement of the Finance Act, 2017, will continue their terms as originally appointed, unaffected by the Act's enactment.
