of <h1>Rule 134 Amendment: Quorum Requirement and Casting Vote Omitted in Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017</h1> Rule 134 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017, concerns decision-making by the majority within the Authority. Initially, if members disagreed, the majority opinion prevailed. A 2018 amendment required at least three members for a quorum, with the majority opinion deciding disputes, and the Chairman having a casting vote in case of a tie. This provision was later omitted in November 2022, effective December 2022.
