The applicant receives a temporary reference number to make the required advance tax deposit; the electronic acknowledgement is issued only after the deposit appears in the electronic cash ledger. Verification and grant procedures under the corresponding rules apply mutatis mutandis. The application must be signed or verified by an authorised signatory resident in India with a valid PAN.
