Wage rule consolidation under the Code on Wages begins with new central rules and supersession of earlier wage regulations. Rules framed under the Code on Wages, 2019 provide the short title and commencement of the Code on Wages (Central) Rules, 2026. The rules come into force on publication in the Official Gazette and supersede earlier central wage-related rules on payment of wages, minimum wages, bonus, equal remuneration, undisbursed wages, advisory bodies, nomination, and compliance registers, subject to saving of things done or omitted before supersession.
