Wage rules notification supersedes earlier wage and bonus frameworks under the Code on Wages regime. The Central Government has notified the Code on Wages (Central) Rules, 2026 under section 67 of the Code on Wages, 2019, following publication of the draft rules and consideration of objections and suggestions received from stakeholders. The notification supersedes earlier wage, bonus, equal remuneration, nomination, advisory board, and compliance-related rules, except for things done or omitted to be done before supersession. The rules are titled the Code on Wages (Central) Rules, 2026 and come into force on publication in the Official Gazette.
