Board authority over Special Economic Zones approvals, infrastructure, foreign investment and delegation, with binding manufacture determinations. The Board is empowered to promote orderly SEZ development by granting, modifying or rejecting approvals for SEZ establishment, authorised operations, foreign collaborations and foreign direct investment, infrastructure proposals, and licences for industrial undertakings within SEZs; to suspend approvals and appoint Administrators; to decide, by notification, whether an activity is manufacture with binding effect on central Ministries; to delegate functions to Development Commissioners; and to be bound by written policy directions of the Central Government.
