of <h1>Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess: Additional Customs Duty for Funding Agricultural Projects Per Customs Tariff Act, 1975</h1> The Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess is a customs duty levied on imported goods as specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, to finance agricultural infrastructure and development. The Central Government, following parliamentary appropriation, can utilize the collected funds for these purposes. The cess is calculated based on the value of goods as determined under the Customs Act, 1962, and is in addition to other applicable customs duties. The provisions of the Customs Act, including those related to duty assessment and collection, apply to the cess, as amended by the Finance Act, 2024.
