Benami property transaction law amendment updates section 2 wording through a textual substitution in the definitional provision. Section 2(1) of the Prohibition of Benami Property Transactions Act, 1988 was amended by substituting the words 'referred to in' for 'appointed under'. This is a textual amendment to the definitional provision of the principal Act and forms part of the Finance Act, 2021, with effect from 1 July 2021.
