of <h1>Customs Notification Amended: Bengal Gram Imports Exempted from Certain Cesses, 10% Duty Imposed from April 2025</h1> The notification amends previous customs notifications to exempt Bengal gram (desi chana) imports from the Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess and Social Welfare Surcharge, imposing a total import duty of 10% effective from April 1, 2025. The amendments modify Notification No. 11/2018-Customs and Notification No. 11/2021-Customs, adjusting tariff classifications and removing certain entries. These changes are enacted under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, and relevant Finance Acts, and are deemed necessary in the public interest by the Central Government. The notification will be effective from April 1, 2025.
