of <h1>Finance Act 2019 Updates Customs Notifications with Retrospective Effect Under Section 25(1); Validates Past Actions</h1> The Finance (No. 2) Act, 2019, amends certain notifications issued by the Government of India under section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, with retrospective effect. Specifically, notifications G.S.R. 423(E), G.S.R. 499(E), and G.S.R. 185(E) are amended as specified in the Second Schedule, effective from the dates listed therein. This amendment validates all actions taken under these notifications as if they were always in effect, overriding any court or tribunal decisions to the contrary. The Central Government is granted the authority to make these retrospective amendments.
